When is the Wells Comedy Festival?
The fifth Wells Comedy Festival will take place May 24-26 2019.
When will tickets go on sale?
Lots of shows are on sale now. Join the mailing list to be the first to know of more announcements.
Do I buy a ticket for the whole weekend or individual shows?
Each show is ticketed separately, so you can decide exactly how many shows you want to see.
How many venues are there?
Six! See our venues page for a map and the full addresses.
How long does a show last?
Unless otherwise stated, each show lasts an hour, and there’s enough time between shows to nip to your next venue. There are a few shows – including the Gala shows – which are longer, though.
Are latecomers allowed?
It depends on the show, but many will have a strict no-latecomers policy, so assume no latecomers are allowed. Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to show time.
When do doors open?
The venues (and bars!) are open all day. You can take your seats from approx 15 mins before show time.
How will I receive my tickets?
We don’t post out any physical tickets, but you do need to bring your tickets with you to each show – either print-at-home or on your phone. Tickets will still be available to purchase from a festival box office on the festival weekend, provided the show isn’t already sold out…
Are seats allocated?
All shows at Cedars Hall and Wells Little Theatre: Main House (unless otherwise stated) have allocated seating, and you can pick which seats you’d like when you make a booking. All shows at the White Hart, Tramways, Wells Little Theatre: Rehearsal Room and The Venue are unallocated.
Is there disabled access?
Shows at Cedars Hall and Wells Little Theatre: Main House have wheelchair spaces available, which you can select when booking online. Tramways and Wells Little Theatre: Rehearsal Room can also accommodate wheelchairs – please phone Ticketline on 0844 888 9991 if you require a wheelchair space for those venues. Unfortunately, the White Hart and The Venue aren’t wheelchair accessible. The White Hart has 15 steps up to the venue. Steps up to The Venue will be available shortly.
Do you offer carer/assistant tickets?

What about other access requirements?
We work hard to make sure shows are accessible as possible to everyone. If you have other access requirements please contact us and we’ll do our best to accommodate.
Is there somewhere to eat and drink?
Absolutely! The Festival Bar at Wells Little Theatre is open till late each night of the festival. This year we will also have delicious Da Luciano’s pizza right outside the Little Theatre and The Hatch coffee van keeping us well caffeinated.

Can I buy tickets over the phone?
Yes indeed. You can phone Ticketline on 0844 888 9991. Please note that is the number for our ticketing agent and not how to get in touch with the organisers. Click here to email us.
Can I book tickets in person?
Yep, during the festival weekend.
I’ve bought tickets but can no longer attend. Can I return my tickets?
Unfortunately not, sorry. Tickets are non-refundable or exchangeable. As we have so many shows to sell tickets for, we don’t have the resources to arrange individual ticket returns.
